PROJECT SUMMARIES
PROJECT: IDEXX Cardiopet eConsult Web Site Release
ROLE: Quality Assurance Consulting - Software Implementation & Support
COMPANY: IDEXX Laboratories
- In a 5 week period, created and executed a black box test plan that identified over 100 issues that were fixed and retested prior to the initial software release.
- Lead a BETA testing effort with the software users in Little Falls, NJ that identified numerous user interface and functionality bugs that were addressed prior to software launch. Additionally, trained and supported users on the software and fully tested additional software releases for a 4 week post release period.
- Used the Paessler Web stress automated test tool to track down a crucial database locking bug and identified system performance issues that were successfully fixed and retested prior to the release date.
- Created an executed a black box test plan to verify the SAP / eConsult interface functionality.
PROJECT: CompanyWatch Web Site Feature Release
ROLE: QA Test Planning / Execution and Functionality Development

- Worked with development team members to create the functional specification document for the CompanyWatch instant email notification feature.
- Planned and implemented a multi personnel testing effort which caught multiple user interface and database bugs prior to the Web site release.
- Lead team meetings to field employees that educated them about the new product features.
- Redesigned the bug tracking database to foster greater team cooperation between Web site and Intranet development teams.
- During the development, I also participated in the interviewing process for a new QA staff member and recommended the successful candidate to senior management.
PROJECT: Seafax Web Site Redesign

- Designed and executed a detailed test plan that lead to a high quality release that allowed Seafax to significantly reduce product delivery expenses.
- Assisted in defining manageable project tasks and assigning them to developers to help complete the project on time and under budget.
- Lead team meetings to field employees that educated them about the new product features.
- Implemented post-release tests to verify Web site emails delivering PDF files to the customers were being processed and logged correctly in the database.
PROJECT: Gofish.com Help System Web Site Release
ROLE: QA Test Planning / Execution and Project Management

- Participated in a collaborative effort with graphic artists, developers and database experts to design the on-line help system for the Gofish.com Web site.
- Created the entire help system content by working with staff members and customers to identify areas of the site that needed on-line assistance.
- Worked closely with the Gofish.com content department to ensure that help design and text were consistent with Gofish content guidelines.
- Rigorous testing was implemented to verify that proprietary seafood exchange help content would not be displayed to non-logged in Web site visitors.
PROJECT: Maine Mathematics and Science Web Site Build

- Organized and implemented the first organized testing effort for a Commtel Web development project. Commtel management recognized my efforts as crucial in improving the overall software quality produced by the Web development group.
- Implemented a custom issue-tracking SQL database that allowed QA staff, developers, and contract programmers to communicate more effectively on software problems.
- Lead a Web site demonstration to MMSA management to help familiarize them with the project status and software functionality three weeks before the site launch.
- Made recommendations regarding how to integrate Web design and application development efforts earlier in the product development lifecycle to improve the quality of the Web site user interface.
PROJECT: Maine Veterans' Homes HTS Software Implementation
ROLE: Installation Project Manager
COMPANY: Hi-Tech Software
- Lead the installation of the HTS Financial Accounting System for the MVH Central Office and its five long-term care facilities.
- Fully tested and implemented the custom program enhancements specific to MVH payroll and billing requirements as mandated by governmental agencies.
- Managed the conversion effort of the monthly Medicare and Medicaid paper billing process to a bi-weekly electronic submission, which helped MVH to significantly improve their cash flow.
- Trained the MVH staff on the proper use of the Hi-Tech Financial Software leading to greater operational efficiencies across the MVH organization.
PROJECT: TimeTrak Software Y2K Conversion
ROLE: Y2K Conversion Specialist
COMPANY: Northeast TimeTrak Systems
- Assisted 30+ DOS-based TimeTrak software clients convert to a Y2K compliant windows-based system to ensure their payroll system integrity.
- Tested the communication links between the new software and existing TDS Time clocks to verify the time punches would be processed correctly.
- Regression tested the custom program enhancements for each customer to ensure special payroll procedures would be processed accurately during the next payroll cycle.
- Developed and implemented a detailed conversion checklist to achieve greater efficiency to the multiple conversions required for year 2000 rollover.
